Well, the Writing 11/12 class this week has sparked a lot of controversial thought and opinion, or just brought out what people think which they usually don't talk about. I think many people were surprised at their opinion because when do we ever talk about residential schools? Yeah, we've heard about them, but except for that one lesson in SS11, that's the only time we've heard about them or discussed the problems associated with them. I personally think it was horrible what happened in residential schools and how First Nations were treated, restricted, and shut out. I don't believe anyone.. any of the people who are not in government... really know what to think because they had nothing to do with it, only the government enforced it. So, how can we know how we feel about something when we weren't responsible for it and we've hardly been exposed to information about it?
