Well, it's the last day of school. I'm kind of excited, but not as hyper as I thought I would be. I guess I've just spent too much time thinking about it already and the thrill has worn off or something. On the other hand, maybe I'm just too tired and stressed out and just want to go home and sleep!

Throughout grade 12, the Writing class has excepted many challenges, the most rewarding of which was the newsletter. I can't wait to see what our yearbook turned out like. Also, since our creativity week, I've been writing poetry again to make sense of my feelings.

I'd just like to share something with everyone that popped into my head yesterday: When opportunity knocks, run to your door, swing it open, and yell at the top of your lungs with open arms "WELCOME TO MY HUMBLE HOME!"
Have an awesome grad, gr 12ers, and a great summer to all!

ONLY TWO DAYS OF SCHOOL LEFT! I'm going to be finished with Family Studies this weekend, and I only have one provincial, I have a full time job as of July 2nd, and I'm so excited to be going out in the "real world"! It will be EXTREMELY different and scary and riping-hair-out-ish until I get used to the whole new life style of working 5 days a week, no homework, paying bills, budgeting and if I don't I'll starve! That's conviction enough to save as much as possible. Plus I need to scrap enough together to go to Germany and live there for a while to see if I like it. I think I will. But don't worry, I'll visit often! :p
I just want to thank DSS for the best school year ever.

Oh, and I just want to make something clear. Although I live out at Little Bar, I moved there 2 years ago, and I'm not a hippie!

Well, the Writing 11/12 class this week has sparked a lot of controversial thought and opinion, or just brought out what people think which they usually don't talk about. I think many people were surprised at their opinion because when do we ever talk about residential schools? Yeah, we've heard about them, but except for that one lesson in SS11, that's the only time we've heard about them or discussed the problems associated with them. I personally think it was horrible what happened in residential schools and how First Nations were treated, restricted, and shut out. I don't believe anyone.. any of the people who are not in government... really know what to think because they had nothing to do with it, only the government enforced it. So, how can we know how we feel about something when we weren't responsible for it and we've hardly been exposed to information about it?

And.... today in Foods we started preparing our Greek dishes. Teri and Kaitlyn made the Greek salad, Ryan marinated the FLESH for the skewers (Eep, I just remembered we didn't save any sauce for the veggie skewers >.< ), and I made lemon cake. We were only allowed to make half the recipe, so the cake might have turned out kinda weird... I hope it doesn't taste as bad as it looks.
I can't wait until tomorrow. Everyone's meals sound so nummy. Well, except the fleshy stuff. >.> Anyway, that's all the exciting stuff that's happened so far today. After school the grads are going to make a movie for the grad video.. with a fog machine or with Sam falling off her chair. Poor Sam, I hope you at least get some kind of exercise mat to fall on to!

We just made Cream Puffs in Foods. YUM! they were amazing. I'm glad I didn't put icing sugar on mine, or they would have been too sweet. We did put cinnamon powder on all of them, which turned out to compliment the eggy taste. I can't wait until Friday when we get to cook our Greek meal. Teri, Kaitlyn, Ryan, and I will be making kabobs (meat and vegetarian), Greek salad, taziki, buying flatbread, and banana chocolate chip pie and lemon cake for dessert. It should be great! I can't wait to taste all the foods everyone else will be creating. :)
